Most of us are seemed to be in awe with animals especially when we have some of them as our well-loved pets. Cuddly and affectionate, these wonderful creatures give us joy when we are with them and even excites us with their tricks (if they have some to boot) and even some funny antics and moments. Some of these animals are considered to be part of the family and in extreme cases, some of these are even given inheritance when those who takes good care of them passes away. Common pets like canines, felines, birds, and those kept in fish tanks always gives us great pleasure, but how about coming across with unusual animals, will you keep them as pets, even if most of them looks scary, awkward and can even be unpleasant.

Micro Pigs - the name itself suggests that this pig is totally different from its normal cousins, miniature and odd they might look at, they are certainly very cute, in fact one star of the blockbuster Harry Potter Movie series, Rupert Grint owns one.
Gaining wide popularity in UK these little pigs are crosses of different swine such as the Miniature Pot Bellied pigs, Tamworths, Kune Kunes and Gloucester Old Spots to create miniscule and colorful Micro Pigs which can command a steep price from £195 to £700 each.
Here are the features of these wonderful animal: it has a lifespan of about 18 years, can grow to a size of a tea cup, needs low maintenance, cannot cause allergies to humans, playful and very witty too. These animals are exported to America, Russia, Spain and even in Australia.

Hedgehogs - This fascinating pet is actually considered as an exotic animal and most of the species of these lovely creature is not suited for importation as pets. Still some species of hedgehogs, are kept as pets, especially in North America where selective breeding gives these wonderful animals a wide array of varieties of colors.
Can grow to a size of 5 to 8 inches and can live up to 8 years, hedgehogs are spiky which serves as their main defense mechanism when threatened by a predator. Careful with their quills, though, especially when they are afraid or angry for their quills can prickle your bare hands, but when this animal is calm, they will not pose any worries as they can be held. Hedgehogs have their different personality, some are shy while others would love to roam around. The largest part of the diet of hedgehogs are insects.
Tarantulas - Their scary looks might mistake them of being horrible, dangerous and even ferocious. These large type of an Arachnid, is indeed hairy and armed with potent hunting skill and brute force to subdue their prey. Tarantulas are gaining fame as favored low-maintenance pets because of their exquisite looks and infamous image as a terrible animal, and having one of this as pet is truly interesting and challenging.
Piranhas - Although banned for sale outside the Latin Americas, some of these, are still shipped to Europe, Asia and North America because they are profitable, and gives great interests to potential pet owners. This voracious fish is equipped with vicious and sharp teeth,. Truly an interesting sight to see especially when paired with a gullible fish like a goldfish, which can instantly turned into a hapless snack. Piranhas will use their feisty hunting skill to chase and eat its luscious prey. It is not advisable to keep piranhas as pets because they can pose a great threat to the environment, especially when they are released in rivers, for these animals are prolific and can easily reproduce in few months.
Miniature Cows - cows that can grow from 31 to 40 inches tall, and when still juveniles have size that ranges from 17 to 22 inches tall. They come in different color patterns like brindled, speckled and spotted cattle, the more color the cow has the better it is. Generally energetic, this cute cows can play for up to two hours, wow.
The Hermit Crab - In contrary to its name the Hermit Crab is neither a hermit nor a crab. A lovely and delightful pet, hermit crabs are sociable and goes well with their own species. 800 species of these slow moving animals are found worldwide. The two most popular pets are the purple claw crab and the Ecuadorian crab.
Wallaby - A small version of the very famous kangaroo. It's name has a Latin equivalent macropod meaning "Big Foot," which is ironic. They are passionate, very active and clever pets.
Stick Insects - Using camouflage to escape and fool the eyes of roaming predators these voracious and peculiar-looking insects will surely make as a very interesting pets. They are slow moving but capable of flying. Stick insects are indeed a delightful sight to see to keep as a pet.
Scorpions - Often kept as pet by some enthusiasts, is known to have a vicious sting that could paralyze its prey and powerful pincers to have a firm grip of their victims. The degree of venom that a scorpion can inflict depends on the plumbness of its pincers, the bigger it is the more it has less venom, the thinner it is on the other hand, the more venom it is loaded. Those with larger pincers will rely on power to subdue their prey.
Setting-up your scorpion’s home security should be given importance. Scorpions can squeeze their way through small openings, nimble enough to climb over objects, and can lift tops to escape. It is advisable to keep this pet in a terrarium or fish tank with a locking screen top. This will also helps your other pets from not getting closer to your scorpion and causes injury or cannibalism. Cannibalism can be your concern when planning to keep several of them in one tank.
