If you have time please answer the following question below:
Do you think Michael Jordan was the greatest NBA player of all time.
See results without votingMichael Jordan, David Robinson, John Stockton and two other coaches enshrined to the elite Hall of Fame.
Michael Jordan was enshrined in the Hall of Fame joining other NBA legends like Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Gorge Gervin, George Mikan, and Magic Johnson in the illustrious list.
The final award he could get as a player was finally added to the feather of his cap. Air Jordan had already amassed numerous championship rings and trophies during his career as a NBA legitimate superstar.
Jordan was unforgettable for everyone after bringing out the best in the NBA, his game truly provided excitement and new dimension to the game. His clutch points during crunch time truly made his team formidable and his high-octane offense armed with deep arsenal of attacking and slashing skills was invincible. His patented and reliable fade away jumpers will surely extinguish feisty defenders and was mimicked by youngsters all over the planet.
Jordan leadership was also a cut above the rest. His disciplined approach in polishing and mastering his basketball crafts was indeed something to be emulated by future players. His presence alone in the court was felt as it sends chills and intimidation to his defenders. Moreover it was Jordan that first inked lucrative advertisement contracts with various companies like Nike shoes.
He’s the type of player that will never wilt under pressure and will do anything to win.
The new inductees to the Hall of Fame includes San Antonio’s center David Robinson, and versatile and clever point-guard John Stockton the league all-time leader in assists and steals, and coaches Jerry Sloan of Utah Jazz (Stockton’s coach) and C. Vivian Stringer. Jordan, Robinson and Stockton were teammates in the 1992 USA Dream Team that crushed and blew out all opponents en route to winning the much coveted Olympic Gold medal.
Jordan was in tears while delivering his acceptance speech that drew wide applause and huge praise from the crowd.
Here are the highlights of Jordan’s well applauded speech.
1. On his high school coach cutting him from the roster. Jordan quipped, “I wanted to make sure you understood. You made a mistake dude.”
2. On Isiah Thomas who deliberately handcuffed him (Jordan) and took the lights out of him during his first All-Star game appearance. “I wanted to prove to you, Magic (Johnson), Larry (Bird), George (Gervin), everybody that I deserved (to be there) just as much as anybody else, and I hope over the period of my career. I’ve done that without a doubt.”
3. On Knicks Coach Jeff Van Gundy, who accused him (Jordan) of befriending opponent’s players and being friendly to them then outplaying them in games. Jordan remarks,
“I just so happen to be a friendly player. I get along with everybody, but at the same time, when the light comes on. I’m as competitive as anybody you know.”
4. On media who attacks him that he was a consummate player but incapable of not clinching wins just like what Bird and Johnson had done for their respective teams. Jordan said “I had to listen to all that, and put so much word on that fire that it kept me each and everyday trying to get betters as a basketball player.
David Robinson’s teammate Tim Duncan and Avery Johnson, and Coaches Larry brown and Greg Popovich led a big San Antonio crowd that cheered on him while being inducted. John Stockton meanwhile said Karl Malone is the greatest power forward of all time not Tim Duncan, same fiery Stockton in and out of the court.

The legend! great post
Just saying that every reaction I've encountered in sports media about the event expressed a sort of embarrassed disappointment and surprise at what was a less than classy speech. It was also noted that the other inductees were really obscured in his shadow. That last part would have been hard to avoid given his unique accomplishments - unless he himself made sure of it.
Quite a bit of scandal surrounding his acceptance speech.
What a great tribute to some of the best NBA players that ever lived. I didn't like the fact that Jordan threw those guys under the bus. I lost a bit of respect for him as a person for doing so. My own sister loved Jordan so much that she named her son after him. No one will ever doubt his play on the court, just his professionalism as a person. Thank you for sharing this, General.
