Delicious and Nutritious Eating Asparagus May Help You Prevent Certain Ailments and Diseases.

It is not just a delectable treat as asparagus proves to be one of the most nutritious vegetables one should regularly eat. It is in abundance of vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are beneficial to one’s health and it is also a potent force to aid you to prevent some ailments and diseases. Asparagus is loaded with proteins that are relatively low in carbohydrates and calories. It is also packed with potassium, folic acid, vitamins A, C, and K, and some traces of Vitamin B Complex (which is also good for memory).

An excellent source of dietary fiber, asparagus is teeming with niacin and phosporous (which is good for those who are on a regular workouts). It has high content of an amino acid called asparagines that aids in cleansing the body of harmful toxins. The downside however is you will have a stinky urine after eating this vegetable. Don’t worry though, your kidney is all right and there is nothing to be anxious about it.

Eating asparagus can also provide great help in preventing some ailments and diseases.

Acidity – Being an alkaline-based food, asparagus is effective in lowering the acidity of the blood and helps cleanse the tissues and muscles of waste materials.

Arthritis and Rheumatism – Asparagus has a unique phytochemical that generates anti-inflammatory effect that aids in relieving arthritis and rheumatism.

Irregular Bowel Movement – Consumption of asparagus often may help you take full advantage of its relaxing effect and may help you acquire dietary fiber that aids you maintain regular bowel movement.

Cancer and Cataracts – Asparagus is a superb source of anti-oxidant and glutathione that helps facilitates the prevention of having cancer and lessens the progress of cataracts and other eye problems.

Diabetes and Hypoglycemia – Asparagus when made to a juice may help people control blood sugar level but not recommended for those who are experiencing an advance kidney diseases.

It's an amazing thing that a person can do a 180 on this wonderful thing, I now love it as much as I hated it as a child. funny that. Of course, for a while as a little boy, I hated girls too. LOL

I love asparagus and eat it as often as I can find them fresh in the supermarket, GeneralHowitzer.
