Here are some tips for pregnant women while sleeping:

  • A pregnant woman should get an ample rest. The more sleep she gets the better for her and for her baby.

  • Sleeping at scheduled time each night is beneficial for the pregnant woman and the fetus since it allows rhythm.

This is what you called a "good," sleeping position.

  • To prevent having nightmares, refrain from eating before sleeping and shun away from telling scary stories with your partner.

  • During the first three months as much as possible sleep on your left side to ensure good circulation of blood. You may opt to have some pillows flanked by your knees and under your back to have some comfort you need.

  • During the 4th to 6th months of pregnancy, you are expected to have a better sleep during these stages. During this time lean on your sides with your hips bent.

  • To get rid of pressure on your lower back, you may place a pillow between your knees, and under your back.

  • The last three months of pregnancy, try to sleep on your left side to have a better circulation heading through to the fetus, uterus and kidneys. The circulation of blood heading to the heart is also enhanced.

  • If you cannot get your sleep right away don’t force yourself to sleep. Stay awake and you may opt to just read books, watch TV, listen to the music or engage in light activities instead. You may have a warm glass of milk or a warm bath. Your body will voluntary retire to sleep, and before you know it you fall into the slumber without noticing using these tips.

  • Pillows should always be with you while sleeping at all times to have a better sleep apart from making you comfortable.
